What a fun post! This reminds me of a couple of months ago when I read the phrase “ga de boom in” on a pamphlet about trees and monkeys, and then promptly asked my boyfriend’s brother “Ga jij de boom in?” which resulted in a blank stare from him and a quick explanation from my boyfriend that I had just asked his brother if he was going to get out of there.
Gotta love Dutch, right?
